Ayako Profile

Born in 1996, in Tokyo. Vocalist, singer, and songwriter.
Currently studying at Columbia College in Chicago.
In 2013, at the age of 16, Ayako participated in the British music competition show The X Factor held in Okinawa, and came in 3rd place.
2015-2017
After graduating from high school, Ayako studied abroad at The Young Americans College of the Performing Arts in California, where she was a cast member active in tours in America, Canada, and Japan.
In 2018, Ayako started performing as a solo singer, including originals in English and cover songs. Her official debut was in October, with the globally distributed mini-album Ayako - Open Door.
On December 24, 2018, to celebrate the CD release of Open Door, Ayako held her first live concert in the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Theater 21. On the 26th, she held another in TOKYO FM HALL. Even the mass media had extensive coverage of her globally recognized singing voice.
On December 31, 2018 to January 1, 2019, Ayako performed in the New Year Countdown Concert along with the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa (OEK) at the Ishikawa Prefectural Concert Hall.
On January 21, 2020, the first Ayako original song in Japanese, “Itsuka Sekai no Katasumi de” (lyrics by Goro Matsui, composed by Ayako) was publicly released on Youtube. Distribution started on February 10 of the same year.
On May 21, 2020, Ayako was used as the vocalization to sing the ending theme song, composed by Kaori Muraji, of the nationally released movie Inochi no Teishajo, starring Sayuri Yoshinaga. It was also recorded on the original soundtrack released by Universal Music on May 19.
